The Company

Crocs, Inc. is a designer, manufacturer and retailer of footwear for men, women and children. All Crocs™ brand shoes feature Crocs’ proprietary closed-cell resin, Croslite, which represents a substantial innovation in footwear. Crocs has produced soft, comfortable, lightweight, superior-gripping, non-marking and odor-resistant shoes. The versatile use of the material has enabled Crocs to successfully market its products to a broad range of consumers. Crocs™ shoes are sold in more than 125 countries and come in a wide array of colors and styles. As a result of their success, Crocs needed to create an efficient and streamlined way to train current and future employees.

The Challenge

Crocs required a complete learning portal for their internal Order Management Software program. The company had a goal to develop several elearning modules in a short amount of time. Existing modules within the companies training portal needed to be completed and polished. In addition, new modules needed to be created. The greatest challenge was to develop a template for all future training and, at the same time, set a standard that provided the upmost in quality and efficiency of all learning modules. Crocs training modules used a variety of elearning tools including Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter and Adobe Connect.



The Brookwood Solution

Brookwood’s experienced elearning and creative team worked with Crocs’ internal SME to provide a solution for its training needs. Brookwood delivered instructional design, coaching and training using Abobe elearning tools to create unique training modules. Each module consisted of overview slides, demonstrations on how to perform certain tasks, practice slides and a separate assessment module that can be tracked by Crocs. Branded templates for PowerPoint and Adobe Captivate were designed along with the authoring standards to perform in their environment. The new training modules included professional audio, custom branded caption and note boxes along with navigation and theme design to match. The new templates have a standard “look” which sets the tone for all future training modules. In addition, Crocs now has more options for using the Adobe elearning tools more efficiently, given specific learning requirements. The training modules, templates and best-of-breed learning objects are now the benchmark courses used at Crocs for all projects moving forward.

The Results

Brookwood’s experience helped Crocs save months of development time in building an effective workflow. The elearning solutions ensure that future projects are streamlined and created to the highest standards. The development capabilities that Brookwood provided reduce overall development time of current and future training programs. Overall, Crocs is now able to produce world class content and training modules with minimal client resources the first time around.
