Practical Expertise in Digital Accessibility
Brookwood helps organizations apply Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to create digital content that is accessible, usable, and inclusive. Our team applies WCAG criteria across eLearning, websites, web applications, digital documents, PDFs, and LMS content.
We combine automated and manual testing with keyboard, screen-reader, and assistive technology testing to identify accessibility barriers and determine appropriate remediation. Our approach helps organizations address WCAG requirements throughout the digital content lifecycle—from design and development through remediation and validation.
Whether you are developing new content or improving existing digital experiences, Brookwood can help you understand and address the accessibility requirements that apply to your project.
What Is WCAG?
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are internationally recognized guidelines for making digital content accessible to people with disabilities. Developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), WCAG provides specific, testable criteria for accessibility across websites, applications, eLearning, documents, and other digital content.
What Is WCAG Level AA?
WCAG is organized into three conformance levels: A, AA, and AAA. Level AA addresses a broad range of accessibility requirements and is the level most commonly referenced by organizations and accessibility standards. Brookwood can assess digital content against the WCAG level and version applicable to your project.
What Does Brookwood Test?
Brookwood evaluates digital content against applicable WCAG success criteria, including keyboard accessibility, focus order, screen-reader compatibility, alternative text, color contrast, headings, links, forms, multimedia, and interactive elements.
Which WCAG Versions Does Brookwood Support?
Brookwood can assess content against the WCAG version specified by your project or contract, including WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2. We can also help organizations understand which requirements apply to their specific digital content and accessibility objectives.
Can Brookwood Remediate WCAG Issues?
Yes. Brookwood can identify, remediate, and validate WCAG accessibility issues across eLearning courses, websites, web applications, PDFs, documents, LMS content, and other digital experiences. Following remediation, we can retest the content to verify that identified issues have been resolved.
